iTero Scanner and Cerec Omnicam

A precise map of the mouth is needed to help dental specialists treat you more effectively, and the iTero Scanner is a convenient and precise alternative to traditional impressions. The procedure is comfortable, reliable, safe and accurate. Dr. Bauer is proud to offer the iTero Scanner to our patients to improve their overall experience in our office.

What is iTero?

By using the iTero Scanner, we can create a digital map of your mouth. Using those images from the scanner, we can create crowns, and bridges for you. This technology helps us perform procedures in a precise manner, while eliminating the need for inconvenient alternatives that can otherwise be bothersome to patients.

Traditionally, impressions were taken using large metal trays and “liquid plaster” placed against the upper and lower jaw. These impressions were both time consuming and uncomfortable.

With the iTero Scanner, our patients do not have to endure any further discomfort or anxiety while we take their impression. The entire activity is conducted digitally, eliminating the need for the liquid plaster. Patients can also view the images from their can on an in-office computer display. The technology is much more convenient than the old method and has been found to be even more accurate.

What are the benefits of iTero?

The iTero Scanner provides the benefits of the compatibility with Invisalign, with seven times fewer aligner fit issues. The compatibility with the system also allows patients to see the potential outcome of dental treatments. The exclusive integration with Invisalign increases the efficiency of our practice.

Scans with iTero can be performed by a single operator and shortens seating appointments by 22 percent and virtually eliminates return appointments. The real-time, high-impact visualizations collected with the scans help us educate our patients for a better experience and a healthier future.

CEREC Omnicam is optimized for scanning of natural tooth structures and gingiva. Full-arch and half-arch scans can now be performed more accurately and quicker than ever before.
